Our Media platform works only in conjunction with the CDN service. CDN servers request a video from our media storage and deliver it to end users. This way you are not only getting access to the Media platform features but also speeding up the delivery/minimizing latency.
To start using Media platform you have to first integrate it with a CDN Resource. There are two options:
- you already have a CDN Resource,
- you have no CDN Resources.
Integrating existing CDN Resource
On the Media Platform tab go to the CDN Resources section and navigate to List of CDN Resources. Click on the Prepare button across a CDN Resource you want to integrate with the Media Platform: it adds some Media Platform specific settings to the resource. If you use the CDN Resource to serve other content, the added settings wouldn't interfere.
Creating new CDN Resource and integrating it
On the Media Platform tab go to the CDN Resources section and navigate to List of CDN Resources. Find the Create CDN Resource button and click on it. On the right, you should see a new panel.
Specify a domain name and click Create. More on the difference between your own domain and one in gcdn.co zone can be found in the CNAME article.
Find your newly created CDN Resource under the CDN control table and click Prepare.
Default CDN Resources
Use VOD CDN by default drop-down list to choose a default CDN Resource for your VOD delivery.
